We sometimes feel itchy in our throats, and we tend to wonder what’s happening, and in others they gets thirsty so often, you take as much water as you can, but the thirst doesn't cease. These are just some signs that you are prone to have dry cough. To get rid of this, put some warm water in a clean glass, and a pinch of salt stir them up, make sure it’s saline, gargle the solution for two to five minutes then spit it out. A 3year old kid can as well do this. Repeat this process for three times a day.
Honey and Lime Water
Many people tend to use honey to spread on the hot toast, or others take it on its own, whereas honey has health benefits that enable to treat sore throats and dry coughs. It not only soothes the throats but can also kill certain bacteria that cause the infection. A mixture of honey and lime water is just another way of getting rid of cough, take two table spoonful of blended honey, put them in a glass, squeeze the sliced lemon to get its juice, and then mix the two. One can opt to gargle or just drink it.
Garlic and Lime Water
Garlic has a key medicinal ingredient known as allicin which is known to have wonderful anti-bacterial, anti-viral. This allicin ingredient helps to control dry cough, to make it more effective add lime water for better and quick results. To prepare this, take some pieces of garlic, wash and chop or smash them into small pieces, take lemons and cut them quarterly add to the chopped garlic, boil them for 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure to cover them while boiling to retain the contents, place them in a cool place, sieve and drink while warm. Garlic may also tend to reduce the severity of upper respiratory tract infections so it’s a good recommendation.
Fluids
Drinking at least eight glasses of water per day goes a long way to help control and stop a dry cough. Proper hydration ensures that the mucous membranes that line your respiratory system are moist, thus helps keep mucous thin and watery rather than thick. When your throat is moist and not clogged with thick mucus, you're less likely to cough.
NB: If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

I love that gal..keep it up!!!
Thanks for posting. It is true no one likes having a cold but we are usually caught unawares. I have learnt some new methods of trying to stop it when I feel it coming.
Good information. It's good to know that there are natural remedies for colds rather than using an over the counter commercial medication. I use a lot of garlic in my cooking and have used it with honey in the past for my children when they were sick. It always made them feel better.
